The AX-HAL is a high-performance, 16-bit camera designed to deal with high ambient backgroundAX-HAL light levels. It incorporates a user-programmable offset to remove ambient intensity before signal digitization. This avoids the limiting trade-off between sensitivity and dynamic range inherent to conventional charge-coupled device cameras. Applications include film digitization and qualitative and quantitative bioimaging, such as fluorescence in situ hybridization. Axiom Research.
