Similarities Between Organic and Cuprate Superconductors

Ross H. McKenzie

To what extent is the unusual superconductivity observed in copper oxide compounds similar to that seen in some organic materials? McKenzie discusses this question in his Perspective and reviews recent theoretical and experimental progress. Experiments have shown that organic superconductors have a highly unconventional metallic state and exhibit much the same physics as the cuprates.
