RUSSIA:
An Antidote to Bioproliferation

Hoping to deter Russian biological-weapons specialists from being lured to countries that sponsor terrorism, a National Academy of Sciences committee last week urged the Department of Defense (DOD) to help provide them work. The panel called on DOD to launch a 5-year, $38.5 million initiative to fund collaborations between the Russian experts and their U.S. counterparts.
