SOFTWARE:
An Eye for the Abstract
Perla B. Balbuena
A simple 2D phase diagram of temperature and pressure can be visualized quite well on a piece of paper. But a student's understanding can quickly become muddled in 3D or 4D diagrams. Educational software developed by K. R. Jolls and his colleagues solved this problem by allowing the coexistence of sophisticated imaging and manipulation of multidimensional phase relationships.
