General Contentment Masks Gender Gap in First AAAS Salary and Job Survey

The largest employment survey of U.S. life scientists ever conducted finds a high level of job satisfaction and rising salaries among senior researchers. But it also reveals a few downsides. Respondents said they spend less time than they would like doing research, there is a significant gender pay gap, and younger scientists express uneasiness about their career path.
