OBESITY RESEARCH:
New Data on Appetite-Suppressing Peptide Challenge Critics
Trisha Gura
In July, more than 40 scientists from 12 labs reported that they could not reproduce the appetite-squelching effects of peptide YY3-36 (PYY3-36) reported in 2002. This month, however, another group published data demonstrating that rats given intravenous infusions of PYY3-36 ate less than controls, in a dose-dependent fashion.
