Images of an x-ray flare in the sun's corona taken by the Yohkoh satellite, a collaborative effort of scientists in Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom, alongside the Japanese for ``Science in Japan.'' Each image in the series shows a region 10 arc minutes on a side; the interval between them is about 1.3 hours. See page 618.
